On the [stiletto] heels of New York Fashion Week, Panman Productions and the Roger Smith Hotel hosted a conceptual photo shoot for PYNDELA, the whimsical Thai label making its North American debut this season. The idea was COLOR in B+W: the models (via iModel & Talent) wore Pylynn Wongleecharoen’s brightly-hued cocktail dresses; whereas civilians (via the 6 train) sported their own black and/or white street clothes.
While Sam Leonardi for TREsemme and makeup artist Rondi Scott readied the models, kids from downtown and Brooklyn converged in midtown for pre-shoot champagne in the street-level gallery space of the Roger Smith. People’s interpretations of the dichotomous color palate ranged from casual sailor stripes to modified black tie. Photographer Michael Scott Slosar found inspiration in the neckwear, oversized glasses and DIY haircuts of the crowd.
The vivid Pyndela designs exploded against the muted backdrop of NYC’s favored shades. The draping and color of a particular orange-red dress drew sighs of appreciation from both women and men.
Freakcast of Panman Productions pumped hip-hop and indie rock tunes and projected visuals onto a transparent screen facing Lexington Avenue. Through the misty floor-to-ceiling windows, flashbulbs and beautiful people attracted the attention of passers-by. Some bold souls tried to slip inside, but only those donning the preordained colors made it past the door.
From every angle, Slosar shot the models interacting with the room. Revelers could see themselves, instant-gratification-style, on the iMac screen set up to preview the frames. Squeals of self-recognition, ooh’s, and ahh’s, punctuated the general chatter and banter.
Fortified by organic Sambazon Acai juice— joyously blended with tequila— everyone ascended the elevators to the models’ room for an impromptu after-party. The lights went down the music went up. People found cozy corners in which to carouse. And it felt like the founding night of a private club on the ninth floor of the Roger Smith. By N. Kanodia

Our new crush

This is our newest model Dina K from Russia. She came into the New York office today to sign with us and it was love at first sight for the entire staff.
